Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered problems to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for further attacks.
